In 2019, friends of Scott “Scotty” Wirtz honored his memory with a first annual fundraiser golf tournament. We supported their fundraising efforts with a specially designed Scott Wirtz LCS 19 USS St Louis embroidered hat. Scott Wirtz, an ex US Navy Seal and Petty Officer 2nd Class, was tragically killed in a suicide bombing in Syria in January 2019 while on an assignment for the Defense Intelligence Agency, for which he was employed following his decorated SEAL service. He was only 42 years old at the time of his tragic death. He was a native of St. Louis. More about Scott Wirtz’ life is described in this news article.

The 2019 sale of these special hats to Scott’s memory helped raise funds which were in turn donated by Scott’s friends to the Navy SEAL Foundation in his name. The Navy SEAL Foundation provides immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and its families. The friends of Scott Wirtz have wanted to continue an annual fundraiser in his memory. This year because of COVID-19 concerns, a large activity such as last year’s golf tournament is unfeasible at the moment. However, his friends have requested that we offer our Scott Wirtz Memorial LCS 19 USS St Louis Embroidered hat online so that interested individuals may purchase them as an ongoing charitable fundraiser in his memory. Profits from the sale of this hat will be donated by the friends of Scott Wirtz in his name to the Navy SEAL Foundation. Please note that neither we, nor the friends of Scott Wirtz, have any legal or business connection with the Navy SEAL Foundation. Moreover, the Navy SEAL Foundation has no organizational affiliation or responsibility for this fundraiser, apart from simply being the chosen beneficiary of the funds raised by Scott Wirtz’ friends.

Our Scott Wirtz Memorial LCS 19 USS St Louis embroidered hat comes in two styles for your choosing. A traditional “high profile” flat bill snap back style (with a classic style green under visor on the bottom of the flat bill), or a modern “medium profile” curved bill velcro back “baseball cap” style. Both styles are “one size fits all”. Our hats are made of durable 100% cotton for breathability and comfort.

Each hat is personalized with Scotty’s name on one side, and on the other side, a bone frog patch chosen by Scott’s Navy friends to honor his memory.

Given high embroidery demands on these “made to order” hats, please allow 4 weeks for shipment.
