Each month Navy Pictures features a unique Navy historical photograph for order as an 8 x 10 picture. The featured Navy photograph for March 2011 is taken from a "gun camera" from a Navy aircraft coming in to strafe a Japanese truck shortly after the battle of Iwo Jima began. The photograph shows several Japanese soldiers fleeing their truck before the aircraft opens fire on it. The battle of Iwo Jima lasted from February 19, 1945 through March 26, 1945, and thus this picture is our pick for the March 2011 picture of the month.
